I had decided to visit Northop Church in Flintshire one hot and sunny Saturday afternoon and whilst strolling around the church grounds noticed a cricket match in full swing on the adjoining green.

Having walked back along the road I stood by the clubhouse and watched the game progress. I was immediately struck by the beauty of the scene before me. The towering church set amidst the wonderful green foliage of the shrubs and trees with the stone wall in front just cried out to be painted.

Is there anything so quintessentially British as a village cricket match being played on a warm sunny afternoon. The memories of that day remain with me and I thoroughly enjoyed painting such a beautiful scene.

This painting has been framed for display purposes (see below).  The cost of the painting complete with frame ready to hang is   SOLD.
