I decided to paint this still life because I was attracted to the warmth of the lovely red drapery which seemed to set off the old glass bottles.  The bottles were interesting to paint being mostly opaque rather than clear glass ones which I usually do.  The orange adds a further point of interest to the composition and balances the left side of the painting.  This painting is on a square canvas which again is unusual for a traditional still life painting but its small size and warmth would add interest to any room, old or modern.
