The magnificent stag taking a welcome dip at dusk, cooling off after a hot day.  He calls out to his females who are nearby, reminding them of his presence.         I loved the subdued colours and the dark rippled water in the evening light which made the scene visually attractive to me.  I very nearly did not paint it because I was worried there might be too much space around the stag meaning the composition would not work.  However, I decided to press ahead and I am certainly glad I did as I think the reflections and ripples on the water create enough interest to carry the composition.

This painting has been framed for display purposes (see below).  The cost of the painting complete with frame ready to hang is  SOLD.
