This was painted to show off the beautiful red tulips set against a background of deep turquoise.  The vase was a transparent green glass allowing the stems of the tulips to show.  The grapes and wine go with almost any subject and add extra interest.  The composition was set up on my dining room sideboard and lit by natural light from a nearby window.

This painting has been framed for display purposes (see below).
