This was a commissioned painting for a valued client. The peaches were very small but suited the composition well – I feel that larger peaches would have looked out of proportion to the bowl. Because of the time of year when I set this up varieties of flowers of a suitable colour were pretty scarce, so I was delighted to find these alstromeria in matching tones.
