I have a large red rose in my garden which has such a strong and gorgeous scent. I have long wanted to incorporate this into a still life painting and finally got around to it in the summer of 2021. I coupled it with an asian wooden bowl full of very dark red plums. The vase shown is decorated in an oriental style.
