In \u2018Cheese and Wine\u2019 I wanted to capture that suspended moment: simple objects arranged so their textures and colours speak as clearly as any conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At first glance the composition is intentionally modest. A dark almost infinite background pushes everything forward: the wooden plank becomes a stage, the white cloth a soft punctuation, and the glass a clear focal point. The deep colour of the grapes and the warm golden tone of the Swiss-style cheese play off each other, while the wine\u2019s glossy reflection and the subtle bloom on each grape invite you in close. I enjoy the challenge of rendering surfaces \u2014 the way light becomes a crisp edge on glass, a soft caress on cloth, and a matte, slightly porous surface on the cheese rind. Those contrasts are what make the scene feel tangible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A few technical notes for those interested: to keep the composition calm and unified I relied on a restrained palette and strong directional lighting.
