I saw this wicker basket in a charity shop and was instantly attracted to its colour and weave and knew it would fit well into one of my compositions. I always love the colour of clementines with their shiny green leaves and jump at the chance of painting them. The distressed blue table was used to complement the orange colour and to add a degree of rusticity to the scene. This was a new direction for me, away from my usual brown wood – I hope you like it.
