Lemons against a dark background gets my pulse racing and is one of my favourites. I never get tired of painting them. The bowl, with its fairly loose, almost abstract pattern is so attractive and its blue colour complements the colour of the lemons so well. The half-cut lemon adds extra interest. I was very happy with the outcome of this painting. I love its bright but simple appearance.
