I saw this lovely shiny brass bowl in a local hardware store and thought it would look good in a painting composition. I’m no expert but I do not think it is solid brass but some sort of metal alloy with a brass finish. It was lacquered and this gave it a lovely shine. I decided to couple it with some fruit and chose satsumas as I love their fresh bright colour and they seemed to complement the shiny brass bowl.
