I bought this silver tea service about twelve months ago and was itching to paint it in all its glory. Being a fan of cream teas (who isn’t?) I decided to go the whole way and include the cream, strawberry jam, fruit scones and a bone china cup of tea. The reflections were amazing in the silver objects – I almost went dizzy painting them all. I set the composition up on a lovely lace table cloth which gave just the right effect to it all. This painting took a lot longer than my normal ones, not only due to its complexity but its larger size.
